Richard “Richie” E. Morgan Jr. has been the Chairman of North State Grocery Inc., a regional grocery chain in Northern California with 22 locations, for over 32 years. Beginning his grocery industry career in 1976, he gained extensive experience across various roles before founding North State Grocery in 1989.

Richie is a graduate of the National Grocers Association Executive Leadership Program at Cornell University (2006). He has served as a director for the National Grocers Association for six years and is the incoming chairman of the Board, and was Chairman of the Board for the California Grocers Association (2007-2008). With over a decade of service, Richie has also held various leadership roles with the California Independent Grocers Association and the California Grocers Association Board of Directors.
